At any given time, there are a handful of motivated college students and recent graduates in the D+P internship program. We recently connected with Karissa Gornick, one of our summer interns, for a quick Q&A session. Read on below to learn more about Karissa!
Give us a little bit of background about yourself!
I graduated from Temple University with a bachelor’s in strategic communications and a minor in content creation advertising. I’m an avid reader. If I’m not catching up on industry trends or the news, I’m reading YA fantasy/dystopian novels. I love to sing and create art, but dogs and household plants are my true passion.
Describe yourself in three words.
Three words I’d use to describe myself are imaginative, compassionate and outgoing.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
Growing up, I wanted to be a teacher or a comedian. If I did not pursue public relations, I’d probably be happy in either of those professions, because I still enjoy helping others and making people laugh.
What’s something few people knew about you, but you wish
Few people know I bake homemade dog treats. They’re a healthy alternative to store-bought treats, and I love to spoil my pup. It’s a hobby I hope to turn into a small business.
If you could give a piece of advice to your high school/younger
self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self to be confident in doing her best. I’d say her best is more than enough, and she’s great as is.
